UK Principal

I started in music by singing in the church and school choir from 1969. Learning my first set of musical notes; from my mother. Went to Brockley Primary then John Evelyn: to finish before going to West Greenwich Secondary, in 1972. During that time I use do sports and I did music with Mr Anthony the music teacher at that time. I always listen to my mum singing church songs when washing up the dishes. Other than that I love playing football, basket ball and martial arts also table tennis. Musical Beginnings In the 70’s I started as a record selector for a sound called Lion Mattic my cousin sound in Derby and during the summer holiday was still selecting tunes but mixing down the MC’s on the system. Now learning my craft as a singer/chanter and developed a unique style of variating my vocals to give a different flavour to reggae. In the 80’s began my journey on a Sound System called Enforcer in which I became the Mc/Singer. Since the I have worked with many sound systems across London and beyond then in the Late 80’s I became a live band artist starting with the Worries, then With Borderline Band and currently with the Powers Band and then started touring london and the rest of the country. Now I am venturing into Europe my first time was with the Rainbow Sounds Band opening a show for Black Uhuru at La Gamme Paris in 2015 the rest is now history. Tracks Recorded I had a chart topper in Europe on Jah Shaka record label word is Jah went straight in at No 5 in 2010 and the tune is still selling now. I the moment I working with rainbow sounds co-producing this Album Rainbow Sounds meets Principal, also working with Roots Hi-tek in producing an album and also worked with Young Warrior to produce an album Know H.I.M now released and still selling. Also had a new release Hola Meditation produced by Luca B C.E.O of Rainbow Sounds released on the Jah Militant Label. Recently I have recorded with Buffaloo Records on the Jah Message Riddim, worked with Bababoom High Fi Records release date to be confirmed and now the song of the moment Mystery Babylon produced by Petah Sunday and Mighi D of Ital Soup Records which is being played all over country and Europe. Black Kulcha Records two songs produced by Mark Darlington Know your Kulcha and Don’t Criticise me Training I was vocally trained in Jazz but also loved my reggae influences from Jerry Lyons, Leroy Davis, Leroy Simmonds, Tad Hunter, Horseman, Ricky Ranking, Ras Jahny aka Johnny Dollar and his two brothers, Maxi Priest, the Fab Five aka the Saxon crew, Mr Shorty and Alphonse with Jimmy Knuckles as you can see foundation too many to mention.
